Farewell to a Friend

Our rabbit Louise died today. It was sudden, it was fast, and it is a big shock. I will write more about Louise and what a great friend she was in the days to come.

She was 8, which is a good age for a rabbit, and she hid her illness from us til she couldn't hide it anymore. That's what prey animals do. We had a chance to tell her goodbye as she passed, and she knew she was loved.

So sorry to hear that Kim...I have no doubt she knew she was loved...it's apparent to even us 'strangers' how much your pets mean to you.

Sympathies - I know how hard it is when a pet dies.

Oh, I'm so sorry, Kim. I'm glad you got to be with her, and I agree - she knows how loved she is.

I'll be thinking of you.

Oh Kimmy, I'm so very sorry. I know this pain, I had many friends in guinea pigs. Big loving hugs to you guys.

I'm sorry that you've lost your friendly little girl Louise.

One of my bunnies died in my arms after she acted a little funny, ie, put her feet in her water and stared off into space. Yes, they do hide their illness.

It a comfort that you got to say goodbye, too.

I had a Lop ear so know how completely lovable they are. I'm sorry for your loss. It sucks.

I'm so sorry. Pet lives are just so dang short, but that's the deal. All we can do is love them while they're here, and that's what you did. Bye bye, sweet little Louise.
