I cast on for the Wingspan shawl the other day--it is quite the Shawl of the Moment on Ravelry and it is a good 'mindless knitting that looks like it takes a lot of concentration' knitting that I so enjoy.
I found a ball of Kauni in blacks, grays and purples that I'm using, and the picture looks really muddy, but it looks better in person.
There are short rows with not wrapped stitches that don't look very good in real life, I'm experimenting with making these stitches tighter in the next hunk.
Plus the needle I was using has a kink in it and I can't stretch it out to all its glory. I'm switching needles on it today.
