AND I did start the Mission Falls top alluded to in previous post. I have no self control.

Casting on is one of the joys of knitting. I love the excitement of new projects.

Hi kim! I'm knitting jaywalker socks too! My first pair of jaywalkers. I'm knitting from the cuff down, I just picked up the stitches for the gusset. I agree, it is a fun pattern! :)

I also am making my first pair of jaywalkers. I can't wait to wear them to see whether they indeed stay up.
I note you are a professor in Eugene--my daughter graduated from the University of Oregon. We loved visiting here there. What is your area of speciality?

Kim, sorry to respond to you so personally on your blog, but I don't know the email address. My daughter majored in science--biology and general science. You would not have overlapped. I was an attorney for UW-Madison for 20+ years and taught in Ed. Admin for 11 years. My husband is a professor--atmospheric science. I quit law because the field was becoming too aggressive for my taste. I am now in grad school (one of the world's oldest students) to become a school librarian and am student teaching this semester. I love working with the kids--I figure we can change the world one kid at a time!
