Word of the day: suboptimal

Oof, I've been suffering from allergies/sinus infection and right now my head feels like it is stuck in a vise. It just hurts. Luckily I don't have to do anything today (meaning, anything involving going out into the world and being coherent) so I will take a somewhat easy day and work on two projects that I'm actually kind of looking forward to working on (one is ideas for a new research study, the second is writing up our trip to LA for a journal that asked for it).

I did the dot section.
As I was finishing it up, I realized that a dot is just a bobble in stockinette. These dots require six stitches per dot (all done in a single stitch) so not quite as bad as a five-row bobble but I'm glad to be done.

Best view in the house
This is the magnolia outside my office window. It is beautiful--the campus is also an 'official' arboretum.

And here is the view from inside my office.
This is definitely not suboptimal.

All those blooms would have my allergies on hyperdrive! The trees are gorgeous though. Love your knitting project, but I can't imagine knitting the six stitches to create the dots.

Those blossoms are amazing! (Too bad they make you sneeze. . . )

Beautiful. (The tree. . . not. . . not your suffering.)

Regular use of OTC Nasacort has been a life-saver for me. I prefer it over Flonase, which has a scent. That you put up your nose. For allergies. I can't believe so many people don't mind the scent!

Oh how beautiful. Lots of nasalcort for Fireman. The barn dust really stirs it up for him.

I'm dying from allergies, too--you've my sympathies!
The new shawl is so pretty-the 'dots' are a lot of work but they look good!

Beautiful blooms! Hope you feel better soon. There are some nasty, nasty bugs going around on top of it being allergy season.
