Last night was my first night 'alone' in the coast house (if 'alone' counts with Comet and Pilot and Captain MacGregor, the bird). Tim left yesterday morning to go to his office in Corvallis (about 2/3 of the way between here and Eugene) and then went back to the Eugene house to check on Jessie and bring back some stuff (as in kayaks, a grill, some firewood, and probably other stuff I'm not thinking of). He'll go back to Corvallis today and then come back after work.

Yesterday sped by, with work on a piece for "The Conversation" (an online site where academics write about non-academic things) and cards. I stumbled across a site that mentioned using Washi tape for Iris folding. The benefit is that once you get one 'layer' down, you don't need to use tape because the washi tape sticks to itself. So I ordered some holiday washi and gave it a try.

I also did some experimenting with 'bows--these are meant to be wrapped packages and I ordered a stamp that I'll stamp across the top.

These are a bit more traditional.

Anyway, these are fun and I have a square punch so these go faster than ones where I have to cut out the 'window'. Plus washi tape is fun. I'm still enjoying doing these, are you can tell.

I cast on for a new cowl:

It is woven looking which comes from slip stitches. I like this but it did not go quickly yesterday.

And then there's this:

Again, hard to see, but we measured out the pickleball court for the driveway.

As one does.

It is supposed to be a cool, rainy day this morning so I'm going to run through the shower so I can get the dogs out for a good walk before it gets too bad. Not sure what else is on the agenda today--it could be some reading for class in the fall, but it might just be snuggling up with dogs and a good mystery. We'll see.

The new cards are fabulous - the bows are darling. I've never played pickle ball, but I've heard it's fun to play.

As one does indeed.

I had to google pickleball - I had never heard of it. Looks like it could be a lot of fun though! Love your cards, but I am staying AWAY. I do NOT need another hobby.....

I'm with Vera! I love your cards, but I do not need another hobby. The iris folding is really pretty.
I love Washi tape, too, but I have no idea what to do with it!
