Fair-ly good day

The Fair!
We visited the Tillamook county fair yesterday. I had read that it has the most dairy cows of any county fair in the country--kind of makes sense, given Tillamook county is the home to the Tillamook cheese factory. There are cows everywhere.

We've been to the Lane County Fair before, and the Tillamook County fair is about half of the size of it. However, the population of Tillamook County is about 7% of the size of Lane County, so I think it really is Quite the Fair for the size of the area.

The focus seems to be primarily on 4-H and FFA things. It's terrific that this still exists.

There were cows being judged--

And cows hanging out--

And pigs
And rabbits (this one is 'hypnotized' and is being judged--I could do this to my bunny Louise):

And little horses

And one of my favorite animals--the Nigerian Dwarf Goats.

There were not a lot of crafts, but I did like a few of the hanging quilts:

And this isn't a good photo of the Bigfoot quilt, but here it is.

The rest of the day I did some crafts--a bit of knitting-

And then some playing around with the Cameo. I designed this motif myself.

It's kind of cool.

We are off to kayak a bit. Enjoy Sunday!

Undoubtedly, the cows are talking about being judged.
