Quick on a Saturday

Very rainy here--we're expected to get 2-3 inches over a 24 hour period.

We're having the neighbors over tonight for a social distancing pizza party! We hope the rain will stop but worst case scenario we'll have it in our big and bright garage (we have a white floor and bright lights and it feels like your basement when you were in middle school).  As I mentioned before, several neighbors are leaving for warmer climes and we want to gather before they depart.

It has definitely felt like fall here--but we don't have the fall colors, which I miss. We have many evergreens and then a bunch of alders that have leaves that turn brown and fall off. I guess that's the trade off of living on the coast.

The Botanic Shawl blocked out nicely, even without blocking wires, and I'm really happy with it.

And I couldn't wait to cast on for Bee's Knees. There were 247 stitches in the cast on, and right now I'm knitting the ribbing. This is a 'pay attention' project as there are cables and fancy stitches. But I love the color (which is hugely out of my comfort zone box place) and I think it will be a fun knit.

Happy Saturday!

We are at that perfect point in fall when there nowhere as beautiful as the Upper Midwest. Scarlett and Yellow leaves, temps around 70, no rain and no mosquitos! Of course, it doesn't last long.
