Back on the coast

We're back! It was a crazy time. We have everything from the house into our garage, with much of it given away to neighbors or to St. Vinnie's, with a bunch going to the dump. We came back yesterday, and as I drove away the powerwasher came. A handyman is coming to do a few fixes over the next few days, then we'll have the garden fixed and the house will be deep cleaned and then it might even be on the market in a week! We're excited and exhausted.

In addition, I had to clean out my office at school and got to see a lot of my masters' students in person! Retiring got very emotional: my masters' students gave presentations Monday and Tuesday and I basically sat and wept during most of the presentations on Tuesday.

Most days we collapsed on the couch and watched an episode of Bosch and went to bed, then woke up at 6:30 and did it all over again. But there was a bit of needlework. First, I finished my TNT:

And I'm doing well on this:

And now we're back to this:

And I'm so happy.

and I am so so happy for you!!! Those emotions are just bubbling over and need to be part of it. I hear it is a huge sellers market. Be ready for FAST

It all seems so fast! YAY for being back on the coast. I love that picture of the rock.

It will take a week or two for things to settle and for a new routine to emerge. Enjoy your “new” life.

Oooh, a tough statement on Monday's presenters.

I envy you your retired life on that beautiful coast. I am still far from retirement and that's okay because at this point I would miss the kids I work with too much to let go. I know it was very emotional for you, and leaving the house! But it is all worth it in the end. Well done.
